The Palestinian Summit was held on the 21st local time in the new administrative capital of Egypt near Cairo. The participating parties discussed how to solve the escalating conflict between Palestine and Israel and called for a ceasefire and an end to the war.
This summit was initiated by Egypt and invited more than 30 heads of state, government, envoys, and heads of international organizations such as the United Nations to participate.
In his opening speech at the summit, Egyptian President Sessi said that Egypt refuses to expel Palestinians onto Egyptian land, and the only way to solve the Palestinian problem is to grant Palestinians the right to live legally in an independent country. He called on the international community to work together to develop a road map for the resumption of the Middle East peace process and end the current humanitarian tragedy.
UN Secretary General Guterres called for a “two state solution” to the Palestinian issue in his speech, and welcomed 20 trucks mainly carrying medical aid materials entering the Gaza Strip from the Egyptian side of the Rafah port on the same day. He emphasized that the aid trucks waiting on the Egyptian side need to enter the Gaza Strip as soon as possible in a large-scale, sustainable, and safe manner.
Arab League Secretary General Gheit stated that the international community must work to promote a ceasefire and end the war, and urgently open up a safe corridor to provide sustainable humanitarian assistance to the people of the Gaza Strip.
Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Feidan said that the Palestinian Israeli conflict needs a new safeguard mechanism, and it is necessary to safeguard the steps taken by all parties to achieve a just peace. If Israel continues to launch attacks, it will lead to an escalation of the regional situation and threaten global stability and peace.
