Installing fun floor patterns is an easy way of creating interest as well as a strong base for the rest of your décor. However, the costs for doing so are sometimes way more than they’re worth; especially if you desire chevron floors. According to Three Trees Flooring, the typical cost of chevron flooring made of hardwood is about $6,000 to $10,000, depending on the amount of square footage you’re covering. However, labor can easily drive up the costs to about $18,000 for a space that’s 2,500 square feet.

The Most Important Place To Use Plastic Wrap In Your Home That You’re Probably Missing
Not many homeowners have the budget to drop almost $20,000 to remodel their floors, and luckily, they don’t have to. Christina Hall, designer and host of Christina on the Coast, has revealed some major money-saving tips for those who love chevron flooring but don’t like the cost. You may be pleasantly surprised with the materials she used, the installation process, and the typical price per square foot.
An affordable and beautiful option

According to Realtor, one of the latest episodes of Christina Hall’s new show, Christina in the Country, featured a client who didn’t have the budget for real wood floors. Hall’s solution? Luxury vinyl planks. She explained to the couple that chevron patterns are commonly printed onto LVP, which makes the installation process much easier, saying “if these weren’t designed like this, as boards, then very complicated; time-consuming, expensive, so many cuts. But the fact that it comes like this, it’s pretty easy” (Via Discovery Plus.)
So, what were the final results? A seamless design the homeowners fell in love with. Although some may believe printed finishes look tacky, this renovation proved them wrong. It gave this home the stylish update it so desperately needed, and created a beautiful base for all the furniture and different types of décor to build on. The different cool tones of the LVP were especially gorgeous in the kitchen, where it nicely complemented the white and black island cabinetry.
Other times luxury vinyl amazed Christina Hall’s clients

Another example of Christina Hall convincing her clients to use luxury vinyl planks is seen in season five, episode three of Christina on the Coast, (via Amazon Prime). Although the couple had not requested a specific pattern, they hoped to install a hardwood floor to create a cohesive design. However, Hall suggested LVP as an affordable alternative. “Luxury vinyl is very durable, it looks just like real wood now, and it’s water resistant, totally kid proof,” Hall explained. And although the husband persistently pointed towards the engineered hardwood option, Hall convinced him to choose LVP because it was a significantly more affordable option capable of beautifully transforming their home.
At the end of their renovation, the homeowners achieved the gorgeous, smooth design they had hoped for. The cool tones of the LVPs in this design also complemented the various neutral colors in the space, and the texture created a sense of coziness and interest.
