BBC Breakfast host Naga Munchetty had a challenge keeping a straight face on the show this morning (October 1) as her fellow presenter Carol Kirkwood made a rather awkward innuendo.
Carol was finishing a weather report at 7.50am when she said that this weekend would see heavy rain and strong winds, quipping that she “won’t be playing much tennis”.
When Naga clarified what Carol had said, Carol confirmed: “Not much (tennis), no. The balls will be blowing everywhere. Tennis balls!”

But the damage was done for Naga as she tried to suppress her laughter and was seen trying to cover her face with her hand while her co-host Charlie Stayt introduced the next item.
Naga then composed herself impressively quickly to continue with the show, but this isn’t the first time Carol has provided a funny moment of inadvertent innuendo.
In August she presented a weather segment from Greenwich Park in which she attempted to describe the plethora of “dog walkers and joggers” she had seen out that morning, but accidentally slipped up and claimed that there had been “lots of doggers” around.
And just last week her fellow weather presenter Matt Taylor admitted that he wasn’t a huge fan of singer Risk Astley, only to discover that Rick was listening in through a live link and could hear him.
Poor Matt looked horrified and was forced to backtrack, saying: “Love Rick Astley. Best. Grew up with him.”
You’ve got to love live TV.
BBC Breakfast airs weekdays at 6am on BBC One.
